Please allow me to introduce myself…

Who Am I?

Firstly, thanks for taking the time to get to know me. Having worked in the industry since 2016, my experience is vast and my knowledge of project management methods is of a tip top standard. I have been a part of countless projects and have worked with some incredible project professionals over the years; I really have seen it all and loved every second of it!

I reside in Poole, Dorset, UK; a place which has helped shape my career. I have had the opportunity to work in and specialize in maritime projects and programmes in and around our stunning natural harbour. From project managing major yachting events, to advising on risk management approaches, the natural elements have thrown endless challenges my way and I have enjoyed strategically extracting the best outcomes from each scenario. Stories galore which I enjoy bringing into my professional project and programme traning lectures.

I am proud to have industry leading pass rates for my delegates in the PRINCE2, APM & IPMA methods. I began my training career in 2019, where I would run sessions such as “what makes the perfect business case?” and a personal favourite, the “PRINCE2 Practitioner exam workshops”. Now, I look back with fond memories, a head full of lessons, and a drive to keep raising the bar for the project training industry.

No matter the project I have been involved in, nothing makes me prouder than hearing the news that my candidates achieved success, not only in their exams, but careers using the respective method I taught them. The passing of knowledge is a privilege and I am always excited to meet more wonderful individuals and share our experiences through the medium of learning.

My Experience

June 2016 - May 2021

Leaving school I joined a SPOCE Project Management, a market leading ATO of the time, as an operations coordinator. In this poaition my passion grew for the training itself, and the management team helped me develop these skills and put me into the mix. Training just PRINCE2 at this point, I was loving being face to face with other passionate individuals.

But then COVID-19 hit and it spun the training industry. Course were cancelled, virtual courses hadn't really hit the market properly yet, and I was getting bored and twitching to get back to doing some work. I joined the work force at Poole Quay Boat Haven. I was helping schedule yachts in and out of the harbour, creating plans and coordinating sailing racing events, and learning about an industry that previously had only ever been a hobby.

When the training market recovered, my true calling came when I then returned to SPOCE PM as a full time trainer. I picked up APM and IPMA qualifications and went on to teach 1000+ candidates across these methods. Not only face to face, but through virtual classrooms, and even through e-Learning which I personally constructed. These are some of my proudest moments of my working career... until...

I launched my own company! Harley Richards - The Professional Practice Ltd. What a journey! Opening my training services to not just one, but many ATOs in the UK and around the globe. My goal is simple, make training different, modern, enjoyable and effective.

I am convinced the best is yet to come, and I hope you'll join me on the journey.
